About Jenny Beale

about Jenny Beale

In 1997 I woke up one morning with the idea of making a Celtic garden with a Brigit theme, and seven years later in 2004 Brigit’s Garden opened to the public. I am the Director of the project and work closely with our Board of Trustees. The Garden weaves together my interests in education, the environment and Celtic spirituality, and it is important to me that it is a not-for-profit project and a resource for the community. My passion for nature came from growing up on a farm in the South of England. I moved to Galway many years ago and I find the landscapes and seascapes of the West of Ireland a constant source of inspiration. I am very grateful to all the friends, volunteers, supporters and local people who helped make Brigit’s Garden what it is today, and it gives me great pleasure to know that the Garden has a special place in many people’s hearts.
